The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the deadline for candidates who received admission offers from 2021 to date to accept or reject their outstanding offers.
The Board announced that the new deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2026, replacing the previous deadline of Monday, August 31.
The extension provides affected candidates additional time to decide whether to accept or decline their pending admission offers.
According to JAMB, candidates who accept their offers will be able to print their admission letters, while those who reject them will have their admission status changed to “Not Admitted” on their dashboards.
The Board also clarified that candidates who have secured admission during the 2026 admission exercise but still have an earlier offer pending can reject the previous offer without jeopardising their new admission.
JAMB added that candidates currently studying at another institution or enrolled in a different programme from the one linked to their previous admission may accept the outstanding offer and subsequently apply for the relevant correction or deletion where necessary.
The Board stressed that September 30 is the final deadline, warning that any outstanding admission offer that is neither accepted nor rejected by then will automatically be reverted to “Not Admitted.”
“There will be no further opportunity after the expiration of the extended deadline on Wednesday, 30 September 2026,” JAMB stated.
The Board urged all affected candidates to take advantage of the extension and complete the necessary action before the deadline, noting that failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period would render it invalid.
