Barcelona secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Galatasaray at RAMS Park in Istanbul on UEFA Champions League Matchday 2, overturning an early deficit with an impressive second-half performance.

Galatasaray took the lead in the 28th minute when Aleksey Batrakov finished a fast break with a right-footed shot into the bottom-left corner, following an assist from Rafael Leão.

However, Barcelona responded before the break as João Cancelo equalised in the 43rd minute, firing a right-footed effort into the bottom-right corner after being set up by Dani Olmo.

The visitors returned for the second half with greater attacking intensity and took the lead in the 50th minute. Fermín López headed home from close range following a corner delivered by Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona extended their advantage just three minutes later when Anthony Gordon converted a right-footed effort from inside the six-yard box, with Yamal providing another assist.

Karim Adeyemi sealed the victory in the 65th minute, finding the net with a left-footed shot from inside the penalty area to make it 4-1.

Barcelona dominated possession throughout the encounter, recording 71 per cent of the ball, 22 shots and 11 attempts on target. Galatasaray, by contrast, managed just five shots and one corner as they struggled to respond to the visitors’ attacking pressure.

The statistics further highlighted Barcelona’s dominance, with an expected goals figure of 2.54 compared with Galatasaray’s 0.49.

Despite Galatasaray’s promising start, Barcelona’s clinical finishing and control after the interval ensured a comfortable victory, as the Spanish side left Istanbul with all three points.
