The Kwara State Government has commenced free online registration for the 2026 Placement Examination into public junior secondary schools across the state, with the process to be conducted through a dedicated online platform.
The examination, popularly known as the Common Entrance Examination, is targeted at eligible Primary Six pupils seeking admission into public junior secondary schools in Kwara State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Peter Amogbonjaye.
According to the ministry, registration for pupils in private primary schools will commence on Tuesday, June 9, while registration for pupils in public primary schools will begin on Friday, June 12.
The ministry added that registration for all categories of schools will close on June 22 and urged all stakeholders to comply strictly with the schedule.
It explained that the exercise would be carried out through pupils’ current primary schools and is exclusively meant for Primary Six pupils enrolled in approved public and private schools across the state.
To ensure proper coordination, the ministry directed all private primary schools to obtain clearance from the Quality Assurance Bureau before receiving portal login credentials required for registration.
The state government also issued a warning against any form of extortion during the exercise, stressing that registration remains completely free.
It stated that no principal, headteacher, or school official is permitted to collect money from parents or pupils under any guise, adding that anyone found violating the directive would face sanctions in line with the law.
The ministry encouraged parents and school administrators to take advantage of the free registration period to ensure all qualified pupils participate in the placement examination.
