Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has authorized the payment of outstanding salaries and minimum wage arrears for staff of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.
Makinde made the disclosure on Monday while inaugurating the governing board of the teaching hospital. The ceremony took place at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
While addressing the gathering, Makinde assured that the issue of LAUTECH lecturers’ strike would be resolved soon. He further promised that the state government would provide the necessary support to the board to ensure the hospital becomes fully operational.
Makinde stated, “One of my key expectations from this Board is that the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Complex, Oyo, must be completely revamped and made fully operational within 12 months.”
“By this time next year, we will no longer be going back and forth. Initially, I thought it was covered under the French grant, but when I was informed it was not, I decided that the state would take it on. This is a special 12-month project, and I will be available to provide any support that may be required.”
