MAKINDE MOURNS WIFE OF BALOGUN OF IBADANLAND, OBA AJIBOLA

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has commiserated with the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, over the death of his wife, Olori Basirat Ajibola.
Makinde described her death as a loss to Ibadanland and Oyo State, extending his condolences to the monarch, the Ajibola family and the entire Ibadan traditional institution.
The governor’s condolence message was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
He described the late Olori, who also held the title of Aare Onibon Iyalode of Ibadanland, as a woman whose contributions to the community included supporting her husband and demonstrating commitment to the wellbeing of Ibadanland.
Makinde said, “On behalf of the Government and people of Oyo State, I extend my deepest sympathies to Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and the entire family.
“Her passing is a painful loss, and we pray that the Almighty grants His Majesty and other members of the family the strength and comfort needed at this difficult time. May her soul rest in perfect peace.”
The governor added that the late Olori’s legacy of humility and service would remain in the memories of those who knew her.
He also reaffirmed the state government’s solidarity with the traditional institution and the people of Ibadanland as they mourned her death.
