MTN Nigeria has confirmed a network outage affecting some of its customers in Oyo, Lagos, Rivers and Delta states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
The telecommunications company disclosed this in a statement posted on its X account on Thursday.
MTN said customers in the affected locations might be unable to access some of its services due to the network disruption.
“Network Outage Alert! We’re experiencing network challenges in some parts of Oyo, Lagos, Rivers, FCT and Delta States and our services may be temporarily unavailable as a result,” the company said.
“Our engineers are working to restore services as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
In a subsequent update, MTN apologised to affected customers and reiterated that its engineers were working to restore the services.
“Dear Customer, We are aware some of our customers are having challenges using our services. Our engineers are working to restore services as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience,” it added.
The company did not disclose the cause of the outage or provide a specific timeline for the restoration of services.
