NOLLYWOOD STARS, CELEBRITIES GATHER FOR SERVICE OF SONGS IN HONOUR OF LATE ACTOR ALEXX EKUBO

The Nigerian entertainment industry on Wednesday came together in large numbers for the service of songs held in honour of late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo.

Earlier reports states that the actor died on May 11, 2026, after battling kidney cancer.

According to funeral arrangements released by the Ekubo family, colleagues, friends, and dignitaries gathered at The Monarch Event Centre, where guests were dressed strictly in white attire in tribute to the late actor.

Videos circulating on social media showed a strong turnout of prominent figures from the movie, music, and lifestyle industries who attended the emotional event to pay their last respects.

Among those present were leading Nollywood actresses Funke Akindele, Kate Henshaw, Chioma Akpotha, Ebele Okaro, Nancy Isime, Ruth Kadiri, and Nkechi Blessing.

Others in attendance included celebrity couple Stan Nze and Blessing Obasi, actor Frederick Leonard, media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, singer Chike Osebukam, and socialite Cubana Chief Priest.

The atmosphere at the service was marked by worship and solemn reflection, with gospel ministers Peterson Okopi, Ebuka Songs, Mercy Chinwo, Nathaniel Bassey, and Kaestrings leading worship sessions, while Pastor Jerry Eze also ministered during the event.
