The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 25-year-old Ayomide Oluwadamilare, a former driver, in connection with the brutal murder of his ex-employer, Mr. Kola Adun, whose decomposing body was discovered at his residence in River Valley Estate, Ojodu Berger.
Spokesperson for the Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, revealing that police operatives responded to a distress call from residents of the Mubarak area in Akute on July 7, 2025, after they reported a foul odour emanating from a nearby home.
Upon arrival at Ogunmoyero Street, officers forced entry into the premises and discovered the lifeless body of the victim on the first floor. The corpse bore multiple stab wounds, and bloodstains were found at the scene. The victim’s Toyota Camry with registration number AAA 193 GC was also missing.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, Ayomide Oluwadamilare, had unlawfully entered the premises on Saturday, July 5, with the intent to rob. He allegedly stabbed the deceased to death and fled with his car,” Odutola stated.
The case took a dramatic turn when Oluwadamilare attempted to sell the stolen vehicle to a car dealer in the Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos. The suspicious dealer alerted the police, leading to the suspect’s arrest at the point of sale.
The victim’s body has since been evacuated to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu for autopsy.
The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.
The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities as part of ongoing efforts to ensure community safety and justice for the slain victim.
