OGUN POLICE LAUNCH INVESTIGATION INTO DEATHS OF RETIRED BROADCASTER KITAN OYESIKU, SECURITY GUARD

The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster and former Ogun State Television (OGTV) personality, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard.
According to a statement issued by the Command, the incident was reported at the Owode Egba Division on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after a resident of Iyana Agodo Village raised concerns over suspicious activities at the deceased’s residence.
Police detectives were immediately deployed to the location, where preliminary findings reportedly revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance within the premises.
During a search of the property, officers discovered the body of the security guard inside the security post, while Ms. Oyesiku’s body was later found within her apartment. Police also noted that the deceased’s vehicle was missing from the residence.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has directed a full-scale investigation into the incident.
The Command said intensive efforts are ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths, identify and apprehend those responsible, and ensure that all perpetrators are brought to justice. Surveillance and intelligence-led operations have also been expanded across relevant locations.
The police extended condolences to the family of the deceased, the Ogun State Television community, media professionals, and others affected by the incident.
The Command assured residents that no effort would be spared in securing justice and urged members of the public to remain calm, stay vigilant, and provide useful information that may aid ongoing investigations.
