ONDO: PRINCE GBADEBO ADEUSI EMERGES OLOBA-ELECT OF OBA-ILE

Prince Gbadebo Adeusi Aladetoye has emerged as the Oloba-elect of Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State following a closely supervised selection process.
Adeusi, from the Orioge Royal House, was selected after an Ifa consultation and subsequent voting by the kingmakers in the presence of government officials and security personnel.
The head of the kingmakers and Elemo of Oba-Ile, Chief Oluwatimileyin Gbemisayo, said the exercise was conducted in accordance with government directives.
Gbemisayo disclosed that an Ifa consultation held on Thursday, September 17, identified Adeusi among five contestants. However, government representatives directed the kingmakers to conduct an election.

He said five of the six kingmakers voted for Adeusi, after which he was declared the king-elect, adding that a government representative witnessed the process.
Officials of Akure North Local Government, the councillor representing Oba-Ile Ward, Hon. Adesoye Fagoroyo, as well as security personnel, were present during the exercise.
Gbemisayo described the outcome as a victory for the community and said a reconciliation committee would be established to bring the other contestants together.
The community is now awaiting the official recognition and presentation of the staff of office by the Ondo State Government before the traditional installation rites can commence.
The Agba Akin of Oba-Ile, Chief Olugbogi Olushola, also appealed to the other contestants to support the monarch-elect in the interest of peace and development.
Olushola noted that while several people could contest for a traditional position, only one person would eventually emerge, urging the other aspirants to work with the new monarch.
“We have chosen our king, and that is the will of our people. I appeal to the other contestants to work with him,” he said.
The Oloba-elect studied Linguistics in France and later worked in Germany and the United Kingdom, where he studied Human Management and Elderly Care at the University of Sunderland.
