OSUN ELECTION: SDP’S ADEBAYO URGES APC TO IMMEDIATELY EXPEL FADAHUNSI

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to immediately expel Senator Francis Fadahunsi over his alleged call for supporters to kill members of the Accord Party.
Adebayo made the call on Thursday while speaking as a guest on Arise Television’s Morning Show.
The SDP candidate condemned the use of violence and inflammatory rhetoric in politics, stressing the need for responsible leadership ahead of the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.
Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District, was recently seen in a video allegedly directing his supporters to kill any Accord Party member they encounter during the election period.
Reacting to the development, Adebayo said the senator’s remarks were unacceptable and should be condemned by both his party and the wider public.
“What I think on a broader scale is that I condemn the statement credited to the Senator, and I condemn the general use of violence in public life,” he said.
Adebayo called on the APC to take decisive action against Fadahunsi and others making similar statements.
“I expect the All Progressives Congress, APC, to expel Fadahunsi and any of these people. If they don’t, they are collectively responsible,” he said.
He also urged the police to ensure that appropriate legal action was taken against the senator, stressing that Nigerians should see concrete steps rather than mere assurances.
“As for the police, they don’t need to tell us what they are doing. We just need to see the man in court. That is how we know that you are actually taking action,” Adebayo added.
