UPDATED: INEC UPLOADS RESULTS FROM 3,292 OF 3,763 POLLING UNITS AS OSUN GUBER ELECTION COUNTING CONTINUES

Voting has ended in several polling units across Osun State following Saturday’s governorship election, with presiding officers commencing the sorting and counting of ballots and initial results emerging from different parts of the state.
The conclusion of voting has moved the exercise into the critical counting and collation stage, with voters and party agents observing the process at polling units.
As of 4:30 p.m., checks on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Result Viewing Portal indicated that 903 of the 3,763 polling unit results had been uploaded.
The election is being closely watched as incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party seeks re-election against the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, and candidates of other political parties.
Adeleke, after casting his vote earlier in the day, expressed confidence in victory, while Oyebamiji also said he expected to emerge victorious.
Meanwhile, ADC candidate Salaam had raised concerns over the alleged non-recognition of some of his party agents in parts of the state.
EARLY RESULTS
Preliminary results announced at some polling units showed the Accord Party taking early leads in the affected units.
At Ward 4, Unit 39, Osogbo Local Government Area, the results were:
- Accord Party — 65
- APC — 43
- ADC — 2
- ZLP — 1
- AA — 1
- AAC — 1
The result was announced by the Presiding Officer, Oyeranmi Deborah.
At Ward 4, Unit 13, Osogbo Local Government Area, the results were:
- Accord Party — 134
- APC — 75
- ADC — 4
- ADP — 1
- AAC — 1
- APGA — 1
The Presiding Officer for the unit was Mabel Olowolayemo.
Another result was also reported from Ede North Local Government Area, polling unit 007/02/07/29, although details were not immediately available.
The results remain provisional and represent only individual polling units. The final outcome will depend on the completion of counting and collation at ward, local government and state levels by INEC.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 87.48 per cent of the expected results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, as the collation process enters its final stages.
Checks on the INEC Results Viewing Portal at 9:42 p.m. showed that 3,292 polling unit results had been uploaded out of the expected 3,763. This represents an increase from 3,119 results, or 82.89 per cent, recorded about one hour and 36 minutes earlier.
Data from the portal indicated that the most recent upload was made at 8:48:08 p.m. from Polling Unit 29/03/11/007 in Ife North Local Government Area, while collation continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.
The closely watched election features Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking re-election, alongside Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress and other candidates.
Voters and election observers have continued to monitor the results on the IReV platform, which INEC introduced to improve transparency by providing real-time access to polling unit-level results.
Meanwhile, figures on the commission’s Result Stats window continued to update as additional results were uploaded from polling units across the state.
