OSUN SENATOR FADAHUNSI ARRIVES AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS AFTER INVITATION OVER VIRAL VIDEO

Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East in the National Assembly, has gone to the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo.He was invited by the police authorities to be questioned.
He arrived at about 2:35 p.m. in the company of the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security, Samuel Erale.
Fadahunsi arrived at the Osun police headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital, around 2pm on Wednesday.
The senator was invited by the police after his comment instructing All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party if seen during the electoral process in some parts of the state.
The senator made the comment while addressing his supporters in Yoruba Language.
“From now on, whenever you see Accord members, kill them. I authorise you to kill them. They have wives and children too,” Fadahunsi had said.
The video of the remark elicited outrage on social media.
Subsequently, the senator said his comment was metaphorical and meant that his supporters should defeat Accord at the ballot box through lawful and peaceful means.
In a letter dated August 11, 2026, the police invited the senator to “clarify the circumstances” surrounding the statements allegedly made during the APC campaign in Ilesa.
Reacting to the senator’s remark, the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) said Fadahunsi will be held responsible for violence against Accord members.
The council alleged that the video corroborated claims that thugs and fake police officers had been brought into Ilase, Fadahunsi’s hometown, as well as other towns in Obokun, Oriade, Ilesa East, Ilesa west, Atakumosa east and Atakumosa west LGAs.
