The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated its newly elected State Working Committee (SWC) in Ebonyi State, with Hon. Chukwuma Igwe and Hon. Henry Ngonu appointed as the new state chairman and state secretary, respectively.

Igwe previously served as a member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.

The new SWC members were elected during the state congress held on Friday at the PDP Secretariat along Km 8, Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway, Abakaliki.

The congress saw a large turnout of party faithful and was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Security operatives were also present, ensuring the event was peaceful and incident-free.

Speaking to party members, Barr Ukpai Ukairo, Chairman of the seven-member Congress Committee, stated that the PDP adopted a consensus approach in electing the new leadership to minimize conflict, commending the conduct of Ebonyi PDP members throughout the process.

Ukairo urged the newly elected leadership to recognize the significant work ahead, emphasizing that the PDP is poised to reclaim its winning momentum, particularly with the 2027 general elections approaching.
