Popular Nigerian streamer and content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has announced plans to feature Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka on his livestream, promising an entertaining session centred on “proper English” and “grammar”.

Peller made the announcement during a livestream on Tuesday, adding that he would provide further details about the proposed collaboration at a later date.

“I want to do a stream with Mr. Wole Soyinka. I will announce it soon and tell you guys what the plan is. It will be a proper English day on that day. You will hear some ‘grammar’ that day,” he said.

The proposed collaboration has attracted attention because of the contrast between Peller’s informal, humour-driven streaming style and Soyinka’s reputation as one of Africa’s most celebrated literary figures.

Peller has gained popularity through livestreams featuring spontaneous conversations, comedy and interactions with celebrities and fellow content creators.

Soyinka, on the other hand, is a renowned Nigerian playwright, poet and novelist who became the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986.

The prospect of bringing the two personalities together has sparked interest online, with the anticipated livestream expected to offer a different experience from Peller’s usual broadcasts.

However, Peller did not announce a date for the proposed session, and it remains unclear whether Soyinka has accepted the invitation.
