PHOTOS: OGUN GOVERNOR PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO FORMER FINANCE MINISTER OVER HUSBAND’S DEATH

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has visited former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, to offer his condolences following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi “Niyi” Adeosun.
Niyi, a respected businessman and devoted Christian, died in Lagos on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the age of 62.
Abiodun disclosed the condolence visit in a statement on Monday, saying he extended his sympathies to Adeosun, her children and members of the Adeosun family over the loss.
“During the visit, we conveyed our heartfelt condolences to Mrs Adeosun, her children and the entire Adeosun family over this painful and profound loss,” the governor said.
Describing the deceased as “a respected businessman and devoted Christian who lived a life of faith, service and commitment to his family,” Abiodun said his death was a significant loss to both his family and the people whose lives he positively impacted.
“His passing is undoubtedly a great loss, not only to his immediate family but also to all those whose lives he touched,” he added.
The governor prayed for God to comfort and strengthen the bereaved family as they mourned the deceased.
“We pray that Almighty God will comfort Mrs Adeosun and the entire family, strengthen them through this difficult period and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Abiodun said.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, saying, “May God grant Mr Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun eternal rest and may his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
The Adeosun family had earlier announced Niyi’s death in a statement signed by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family.
In the statement, titled “Announcement of the Passing of Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” the family described him as a reputable businessman and committed Christian who positively influenced the lives of those around him.
