POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED EIYE CULTIST, RECOVER LOCALLY MADE PISTOL IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity and recovered a locally made single-barrel pistol during an operation in Mushin.
The suspect, identified as Segun Alani, was arrested at Ogunmokun Under-Bridge following credible intelligence about cult-related activities in the area.
According to the Command, operatives deployed a surveillance team to the location and apprehended Alani. A search of the bag in his possession reportedly led to the recovery of the locally made pistol concealed inside.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting investigators with useful information as the investigation continues.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-driven operation.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling cultism and recovering illegal firearms across the state, warning cultists and other criminal elements to desist from criminal activities or face the full weight of the law.
The Command also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police for prompt intervention.
