The command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday in Ibadan, the state capital.

According to Ayanlade, the suspects are members of an armed robbery gang allegedly responsible for a deadly attack on a residence in the Wofun-Olodo area of Ibadan, during which a 44-year-old woman, Wahab Rukayat, was killed and other occupants sustained serious injuries.

He said the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on August 4, 2026, when the armed robbers reportedly invaded the residence of one Alhaji Olatokunbo.

The police spokesperson identified the arrested suspects as Akinrinola Oluwatobi, Okunola Mathew and Ibrahim Rabiu.

He explained that the assailants allegedly operated at gunpoint, carting away several mobile phones, wristwatches, $400 in cash and other valuables estimated at approximately ₦3.493 million.

Ayanlade added that some items had been recovered from the suspects and kept as exhibits, while they remained in police custody.

Among the recovered items was an iPhone 7 Plus belonging to one of the victims of the Wofun-Olodo robbery attack.
