PORTABLE CHALLENGES TERRY G TO CELEBRITY BOXING MATCH AFTER OKOCHA REMATCH

Nigerian street-pop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has challenged fellow musician Terry G to a celebrity boxing match, saying he wants to face the veteran entertainer after his scheduled rematch with actor Charles Okocha.
Portable made the declaration during an interview on Rubbin’ Minds, aired on Channels Television on Sunday.
Dismissing suggestions that he was interested in fighting social media personality VeryDarkMan, the singer insisted that Terry G was his preferred opponent.
“I want to fight Terry G,” Portable said, adding that a bout between them would rekindle public interest in the singer’s career.
“If Terry G fights me one-on-one in boxing, I swear to God he will rise again. People will remind him again,” he said.
When asked whether the proposed fight was intended to revive Terry G’s career, Portable replied in the affirmative, saying, “Yeah! I just train. I want to blow him.”
Portable also revealed plans for an international music tour after his July 31 rematch with Charles Okocha, listing the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Malaysia, Dubai and South Africa among the destinations.
Expressing confidence ahead of the bout, the singer maintained that he would defeat Okocha and claimed to have already received ₦50 million from a total fight purse of ₦150 million.
“I don collect ₦50 million. We are fighting for ₦150 million,” he said.
Portable further described himself as the face of celebrity boxing in Nigeria, claiming his involvement had helped popularise the sport and attract significant financial rewards.
The singer also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress during the interview.
The upcoming fight is a rematch following Portable’s unanimous decision victory over Okocha in their first encounter. Okocha activated the rematch clause after the defeat, with both men exchanging verbal jabs while intensifying preparations.
Okocha has been training alongside WBO Intercontinental heavyweight champion Moses Itauma, while Portable has been working with WBA Africa lightweight champion Taiwo “Esehpo” Agbaje.
Portable has also recorded celebrity boxing victories over singer Speed Darlington and Kizz Daniel’s bodyguard, Kelvin Atobiloye, popularly known as Kelvin Power. However, he suffered his first defeat in the ring after losing by unanimous decision to content creator Carter Efe at the Chaos in the Ring event in May 2026.
