PRIMATE AYODELE URGES FG TO EXECUTE CONFIRMED TERRORISTS WITHOUT TRIAL

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on the Federal Government to stop prosecuting arrested terrorists and kidnappers in court, insisting they should face immediate execution once their involvement is confirmed.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric argued that such a measure would significantly reduce terrorism and kidnapping across the country.

According to Ayodele, there is no need to put confirmed terrorists and kidnappers through lengthy court processes, adding that anyone negotiating with them or paying ransom should also be arrested.

“There should be no court for kidnappers and terrorists. Once they are arrested and confirmed as terrorists, they should be killed immediately. There is no need charging them to court because they won’t get the punishment they deserve,” he said.

He maintained that imposing the death penalty immediately after confirmation of guilt would serve as a stronger deterrent against terrorism.

Ayodele also commended the Nigerian military for its efforts in combating insecurity, particularly praising the Minister of Defence’s shoot-at-sight directive against terrorists.

The cleric urged President Bola Tinubu to honour soldiers and senior military officers with national awards in recognition of their contributions to the fight against terrorism.

He further warned the government against the unchecked proliferation of private security outfits, saying poorly funded groups could eventually become security threats.

Instead, he advised the government to strengthen and formally integrate local hunters into the country’s security architecture by establishing operational bases for them in forested areas.

Ayodele also called on the government to ensure the safety of Plateau-based cleric Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, warning that any attack on him could be interpreted as a serious act of persecution against Christians.

He stressed that the government must provide adequate protection for the cleric to prevent such an occurrence.
