The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has officially cleared former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke, to contest as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.

The approval followed the conclusion of the review of the party’s recent primary elections by the Primaries Appeal Committee, whose report was subsequently ratified by the NWC.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, announced that the NWC also endorsed the outcomes of the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly primaries conducted across the country.

According to Ishaq, all candidates who emerged from the primaries were approved to fly the party’s flag in the 2027 elections, with the exception of the Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano State, where the primary election was nullified.

He disclosed that the PRP intends to field a total of 420 candidates for various elective positions in the 2027 polls.

“In line with our commitment to active participation in the democratic process, the PRP is proud to present 420 candidates for various offices in the 2027 general elections,” Ishaq said.

He reaffirmed the party’s dedication to internal democracy, transparency and public service, stressing that the PRP remains focused on providing credible and transformative leadership for Nigerians.
