PSG SIGN SPAIN WORLD CUP-WINNER FERRAN TORRES ON DEAL UNTIL 2031

Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Spanish forward Ferran Torres, with the World Cup winner joining the French champions on a contract that runs until 2031.
The Ligue 1 club confirmed the transfer on Saturday, announcing that Torres will wear the number nine shirt at the Parc des Princes.
Born in Foios, Spain, in 2000, Torres began his football journey in futsal before joining the Valencia CF academy at the age of seven.
He progressed through Valencia’s youth system and made history in December 2017 when he became the first player born in the 21st century to feature in La Liga, making his senior debut against Eibar.
During three seasons with Valencia, Torres made 97 appearances, establishing several age-related records and helping the club win the Copa del Rey in 2019.
His performances attracted the attention of Manchester City, who signed him in 2020. Under manager Pep Guardiola, Torres made 43 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists.
He helped City reach the 2021 Champions League final and also won the Premier League and League Cup before moving to Barcelona during the 2021/22 winter transfer window.
At Barcelona, Torres developed into an important attacking option, making 207 appearances and scoring 65 goals. He won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups during his time at the Catalan club.
His international career has been equally decorated.
Torres represented Spain at youth level and won the European Under-17 Championship in 2017 and the European Under-19 Championship in 2019.
He made his senior debut under current Barcelona manager Luis Enrique in 2020 during a Nations League match against Germany and went on to represent Spain at Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The forward won the UEFA Nations League in 2023 and was part of the Spain squad that won the European Championship in Germany in 2024.
PSG said Torres has now added a World Cup winners’ medal to his international honours following Spain’s triumph in North America this summer.
The club said Torres scored the only goal of the World Cup final in extra time against Argentina and was named Man of the Match as Spain secured the title.
Speaking after completing his move to Paris, Torres expressed his excitement about beginning a new chapter with the French champions.
“I’m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain.”
He thanked PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, sporting director Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for the opportunity, adding that he hoped to help the club win as many trophies as possible.
Torres will now begin his PSG career wearing the number nine shirt, with the Spanish forward expected to bring significant domestic, European and international experience to the French champions’ attack.
