SHOCK IN LAGOS COMMUNITY AS THREE-STOREY STRUCTURE GIVES WAY

Panic gripped residents of Lagos on Thursday after a three-storey building collapsed in the Alakija area of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area.

As of the time of filing this report, the number of casualties remained unknown, with fears that several people may still be trapped beneath the debris.

Reports indicate that the building suddenly gave way, sending shockwaves through the community. Residents and passers-by rushed to the scene amid concerns over possible loss of life and the risk of further structural collapse.

An eyewitness said the incident occurred at about 11:40 a.m., disrupting normal activities in the neighbourhood as people evacuated nearby buildings for safety.

Confirming the incident, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, stated that rescue operations had commenced.
