SOLUDO’S WIFE DONATES RELIEF MATERIALS TO REHABILITATED EX-INMATES

Anambra State First Lady, Nonye Soludo, has expressed delight over the progress recorded by inmates at the Anambra Rehabilitation Home in Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area, with some of the residents certified medically fit to return to their communities.
Soludo made the remarks during a visit to the rehabilitation centre on Sunday, where she observed inmates who had undergone training in various skills and were confidently demonstrating what they had learnt.
During the visit, the First Lady donated relief materials, other essential items and cash gifts to the residents, while encouraging them to remain committed to their rehabilitation and future reintegration into society.
In a statement issued on Monday, Soludo said the experience reinforced her belief that rehabilitation went beyond helping individuals recover, but also involved creating opportunities for them to rediscover their abilities, rebuild their confidence and contribute meaningfully to society.
She said every individual deserved a second chance, noting that the right support and opportunities could help people rebuild their lives and pursue a better future.
The statement read in part, “Yesterday at the Anambra Rehabilitation Home in Nteje, we witnessed something deeply inspiring. Some of the residents who had been certified medically fit to return home have instead chosen a different path; one of learning, rebuilding and preparing for a meaningful life beyond the Centre.
“They were trained in various skills, and today, they proudly graduated, demonstrating what they had learned with confidence and remarkable skill.
“Watching them reminded me that rehabilitation is not just about helping people recover; it is about giving them the opportunity to rediscover their abilities, regain their confidence and find a productive place in society.
“Every human deserves a second chance. Sometimes, all it takes is the right support, the right opportunity and someone who believes that a better future is still very much possible.
“Today was a beautiful reminder that lives can be rebuilt, purpose can be restored, and new beginnings are always possible.
“I am super proud of our amazing caregivers who played a huge part in this journey, and especially of the graduates who chose to learn, grow and move forward. I look forward to seeing you all grow soonest.”
