SUSPECTED SHILLA BOY ALLEGEDLY HOLDS MINOR AT KNIFEPOINT, STEALS FROM HIM IN ADAMAWA

A Chief Magistrate Court in Yola, Adamawa State, has remanded a 22-year-old man, Habu Hellere Dauda, for allegedly robbing a nine-year-old boy of N600 at knifepoint.
Chief Magistrate Court 3, presided over by Uwani Danladi, ordered that Dauda, a resident of Rumde Makera in Jimeta, be remanded in custody over the alleged robbery of the minor, identified as Aliyu Mohammed.
The defendant was arraigned by the police prosecutor, Danjuma Hamidu, who told the court that Dauda allegedly attacked the boy on Ajiya Street, Jimeta, on Sunday, August 9, and dispossessed him of the N600.
After the First Information Report was interpreted to him, Dauda pleaded guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor subsequently asked the court to remand the defendant to enable the prosecution call a witness to corroborate his plea.
Granting the application, Chief Magistrate Danladi adjourned the case until Monday, August 17, for corroboration and possible summary trial.
Dauda was subsequently remanded on charges of criminal intimidation and alleged Shilla gangsterism, contrary to Sections 382 and 346 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa State.
