FEMI KUTI SAYS TINUBU IS NOT NIGERIA’S REAL PROBLEM, IDENTIFIES ROOT CAUSE

Afrobeat legend, Femi Kuti, has argued that President Bola Tinubu is not the fundamental problem facing Nigeria, pointing instead to institutional corruption and weaknesses within the country’s justice system.

Kuti made the remarks during a recent episode of the Good News Naija podcast, where he discussed the challenges confronting Nigeria and its leadership.

According to the musician, corruption is deeply entrenched across the country’s institutions, with individuals entrusted with leadership in various sectors belonging to the same political and economic elite.

He argued that a functional and independent judiciary would have addressed the allegations surrounding Tinubu before he was allowed to contest the presidency.

“Do you think Tinubu is the problem? The judiciary that didn’t stop him from getting there in the first place is a problem. If all the allegations against him are true, how did he contest?” Kuti said.

He added, “If we had men and women of calibre and integrity, he wouldn’t have been able to contest in the first place.”

The Afrobeat star maintained that Nigeria’s problems were systemic and could not be blamed solely on one individual.

Kuti further warned that the persistence of institutional corruption and poor governance could undermine the aspirations and hopes of young Nigerians.
