Asma, the wife of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has been diagnosed with leukemia, the president’s office announced on Tuesday. Asma had recovered from breast cancer in 2019.
“First Lady Asma al-Assad has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia,” it said in a statement.
