THREE MEN ARRAIGNED IN LAGOS COURT OVER ALLEGED N11.4M VEHICLE FRAUD
Agency Report

Three men have been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly defrauding a man of N11.4 million in a fake vehicle transaction.
The Nigeria Police Force charged the defendants — John Zinsu (43), Koleoso Olamide (45), and Oyinlola Saheed (37) — on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretence, and stealing.
According to the prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, the offences were committed within the Yaba Magisterial District.
Ikhayere told the court that the defendants allegedly conspired with others still at large to obtain N11.4 million from the complainant, Idiahi, under the pretence of selling a grey 2013 Toyota Camry.
She further alleged that after receiving the money, the defendants failed to deliver the vehicle and refused to refund the complainant, instead converting the funds for personal use.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 287, 314, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Presiding Magistrate, Mr L.A. Owolabi, granted each defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until June 30 for mention.
