TINUBU CELEBRATES WIFE AT 66, DESCRIBES HER AS HIS ‘TRUEST FRIEND AND CONFIDANTE’

President Bola Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante.”
In a birthday tribute shared on his verified X handle on Monday, the President praised Oluremi for her patience, courage, compassion and unwavering support throughout their years together.
Tinubu described the First Lady as a steadfast companion who had stood by him through various stages of his life, sharing his burdens and offering counsel during challenging times.
“Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage. Àwọn àgbà sọ pé, ‘Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀.’ A good wife is her husband’s crown,” he said.
The President said Oluremi had exemplified the biblical description of a virtuous woman, noting that she had remained a source of strength, understanding and comfort.
He recalled how she had supported him during difficult moments, prayed with him when the future seemed uncertain and provided honest counsel, even when her words were difficult to hear.
“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” Tinubu said.
He also commended her contributions to raising their children and grandchildren, saying her values of faith and kindness had left a lasting impact on the family.
Highlighting her humanitarian work, Tinubu acknowledged her efforts through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative, which he said had supported young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.
The President further praised Oluremi’s advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases, describing her as a compassionate advocate whose concern for others transcended ethnic, regional and religious boundaries.
Reflecting on their years together, Tinubu said their shared experiences, difficult decisions and sacrifices had strengthened their relationship.
He added that if given another opportunity to live his life, he would still choose the same path that led him to her.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he said.
Tinubu wished the First Lady many more years of good health, happiness and joy.
