President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).

Namdas succeeds Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who stepped down from the position to pursue an elective office in his state.

A former lawmaker who represented the Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State in the House of Representatives, Namdas previously served as spokesperson for the 8th House of Representatives. He also contested in the recent governorship primary election in Adamawa State.

Before his legislative career, Namdas built a reputation in journalism and public relations, including serving as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor, Boni Haruna.

In a separate development, President Tinubu appointed Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.

The President also renewed the appointment of Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the power company.

Obahiagbon takes over from Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the role to pursue political ambitions in his home state.

A veteran politician, Obahiagbon has served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly.

Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, returns to his position as Executive Director, Corporate Services, after previously leaving to pursue a political career in his state.

The presidency said all the appointments take immediate effect.
