In addition, she defeated Ayra Starr, Asake, DBN Gogo, TitoM & Yuppe, and Diamond Platnumz to win the Best African Act award.
Before American superstars Kehlani, SZA, Tinashe, Usher, and Victoria Monét, Tyla took home her third prize of the evening: Best R&B Artist.

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, meanwhile, lost all four of her nominations: Best Push, Best Afrobeats Artist, Best New Artist, and Best African Act.
