UPDATE: FIRE RAZES FOUR-BEDROOM FLAT IN OYO

A four-bedroom flat at No. 1 Happiness Close, Akufo Estate, Elebu neighbourhood of Ibadan, was completely destroyed by fire early on Monday.
This was revealed in Ibadan on Monday by Mr Yemi Akinyinka, the general manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency.
According to Akinyinka, the agency received a distress call at precisely 1.13 a.m. and quickly sent a team to the scene.
He claims that when the firefighters arrived, they saw a well-lit private residence with four bedrooms.
“The firemen swiftly swung into action and were able to curtail the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and properties.
“The fire officers were also able to rescue the family from the building, and no casualty was recorded,” the general manager said.
Akinyinka attributed the cause of the fire incident to overheating of a solar panel installed in the building, which caught fire and ignited nearby combustible materials.
