WIKE ANNOUNCES PLAN TO LEAD TINUBU RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN FCT, RIVERS

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced plans to inaugurate and personally lead the campaign team for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State.
Wike made this known on Friday in Chikuku, a community along the Kuje-Gwagwalada road corridor in Abuja, while inspecting the ongoing Phase Two dualisation of the Kuje-Gwagwalada road.
The minister said political parties were already mobilising ahead of the 2027 general election, adding that supporters of the President were preparing to commence their campaign activities.

He said, “Very soon, I will inaugurate the campaign team for Tinubu in the FCT and Rivers State, which I will lead. All elements of the APC are ready, Mr President is ready, we are ready, and you can see the enthusiasm.”
Wike also linked the administration’s infrastructure projects in the FCT to electoral support, saying the impact of ongoing developments would be reflected in the votes of residents.
He dismissed anticipated allegations of electoral malpractice, arguing that the projects being delivered by the administration would be the basis for its support among residents.
“It is very obvious. Nobody will be able to claim rigging in the FCT. The ‘rigging’ is the projects we are delivering, making the people happy,” he said.
Wike expressed confidence that the administration’s infrastructure projects would translate into electoral support across the FCT, including for Senator Philip Aduda and the territory’s two House of Representatives seats.
On the Kuje-Gwagwalada road project, the minister assured stakeholders that adequate funding would be provided to ensure its completion by December.
He said the development of infrastructure remained central to governance, noting the positive response from residents in the area.
Wike also commended President Tinubu for supporting capital projects in the FCT and expressed appreciation for the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.
