YOBE COMMENCES SALE OF NOMINATION FORMS FOR JUNE 6 LG ELECTIONS

The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YOSIEC) has begun the sale of nomination forms for the June 6, 2026, local government elections, covering positions for chairman, vice chairman and councillors.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Permanent Member V, Kadai Maaji Jumbam, on behalf of the Commission.

He said the exercise is in line with the election guidelines and existing rules and regulations guiding the activities of the electoral body.

The Commission said the sale of nomination forms will run from March 22 to 31, 2026, at its office located within the State Ministry of Works premises along Gashua Road, Damaturu.

It added that the forms will cost N300,000 for chairmanship aspirants, N250,000 for vice chairmanship, and N200,000 for councillorship.

Jumbam urged all political parties intending to field candidates to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe.
