Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli: ‘Patience was key to victory’
Dele Alli has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur showed good patience during their 3-0 victory over Manchester United this afternoon.
The visiting Red Devils kept their hosts at bay until the 70th minute when Alli pounced to break the deadlock.
That was followed by further goals from Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela in the next six minutes to seal the three points.
“We knew how good the opposition were and it was important that we keep on winning games,” the 19-year-old told Sky Sports News.
“They were not going to make it easy for us but we knew the chances would come if we kept patient.”
Alli’s goal took his tally for the season in the Premier League to eight.
