PDP chief urges Mark to save party from extinction
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Abu King Shuluwa, has urged the former Senate President, David Mark, to take over the leadership of the party in Benue State to save it from extinction.
Shuluwa, who stated this in an interview in Makurdi, however, said if Senator Mark is unwilling to lead the party in the state, he should inform elders of the party so that they can get someone to do this.
“As for now, the highest person in hierarchy of the PDP in the state is Senator David Mark, but he should concentrate his vigor on the Benue South Zone, otherwise called Zone C. I think he should be playing the role of a leader of the party in the state, but if he is unable, he should let us know.
“You can also see that the leadership of the party in the state is in disarray. Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, who is the State Chairman, is not available. He is a lecturer at the University of Abuja and doesn’t have time for party activities,” he stated.
Shuluwa, who is also the deputy chairman of the party’s Elders Forum in Benue, said the PDP lost the governorship election in the state due to imposition of candidates against the will of party members, adding that this arrangement must be avoided in the 2019 elections.
