FC Ifeanyi Ubah wins 2016 Federation Cup
FC Ifeanyi Ubah have won the 2016 Federation Cup after defeating Nasarawa United in the final. The Anambra Warriors take the title from holders Akwa United who defeated Lobi stars in the 2015 showpiece.
The game which was played at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere ended goalless after 90 minutes and the game went to penalties. FCIU scored all five of their penalties but Nasarawa United saw spot kicks by Seun Sogbeso saved. Sogbeso according to reports has never missed a penalty in his career.
Earlier in the day, Rivers Angels won the women’s Federation Cup after defeating Bayelsea Queens.
