Obasi Left Out, Ameobi In Action As Bolton Lose To Leeds
Nigeria forward Chinedu Obasi did not make struggling Championship club Bolton Wanderers’ squad as they lost 2-1 away to Leeds United on Good Friday.
Obasi is yet to debut for Bolton since completing his move early this month on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
His last appearance for Bolton was for their U-23s against Millwall on Monday.
Nigerian forward Sammy Ameobi, whose elder brother Shola played for the Super Eagles at the 2014 World Cup, was however impressive for Bolton.
Caleb Ekuban opened scoring for Leeds in the fourth minute before Pablo Hernandez doubled their lead on 50 minutes.
Bolton pulled a goal back in the 53rd minute through Adam Le Fondre who got on the score sheet.
Ameobi was lively and gave the Leeds defence problems but he could not rescue his side.
The defeat means Bolton have now lost two of their last five league games (two draws, one win).
The Trotters are now currently 19th on 39 points, six points above the relegation zone in the 24-team league table.
