WHO WAS OLATOYE “SUGAR”?

An Oyo State African Democratic Party, ADP Senatorial candidate, Temitope Olatoye a.k.a “Sugar”, was shot dead yesterday, by yet to be identified gunmen. While the circumstances surrounding his murder remains a mystery, we take a look at who he was before his demise.

Sugar, a native of Alafara Oje in Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo state, Sugar’s ancestral roots are traceable Onigbodogi and Alape both in Lagelu Local Government Area.

He had his primary school education at St Michael Primary School, Yemetu and I.M.G Primary School, Beyerunka, Alafara Oje both in Ibadan. He then proceeded to Ikolaba Grammar School, St Luke’s College, Molete and Alugbo Comprehensive High School, Egbeda, all in Ibadan, Oyo State for his Secondary School education.

In order to pursue his dream as a teacher, Sugar attended Federal College of Education, Osiele in Abeokuta, Ogun State and the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

His preference for community development advocacy propelled him to pursue a post graduate degree in Community Development and Adult Education at the University of Ibadan where he bagged a Master’s Degree. He then proceeded to the United Kingdom to earn another Master’s Degree certificate from NARIC. He was then awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration and Governance from the foremost European-American University in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

There are reports that while at FCE, Osiele, Olatoye worked as one of the leaders of OPC in Ogun State, singlehandedly killing cult boys like chickens.

Another report also revealed Sugar worked as a ‘marksman’ for a popular politician in the Ogun, where he was said to have slain a number of lives.
