Prof. Shuaibu AbdulRaheem, the New Nigeria People’s Party’s (NNPP) Kwara Governorship Candidate, has promised to restructure the state if elected.

AbdulRaheem, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, made the pledge on Tuesday at a campaign stop in the state’s Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area.

He stated that his objective for the state was to reposition it as the envy of other states while also alleviating people’s misery.

“I want to perform a fantastic job in the state so that even my opponents will pray for me,” AbdulRaheem added.

I want to do so well as governor that even my opponents will be praying for me.

“I’ve done it before at Ilorin University, and I intend to do more for the state in general.”

The former Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, who is also a gubernatorial contender, paid a courtesy visit to Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Mohammed Kawu, and solicited his support and prayers.

At the palace, he told the traditional monarch that he was aware of the poor’s plight and wished to be their advocate.

“My intentions for the state is to support farmers in agriculture and let our produce be helpful to us both within the state, country and outside countries as well.

“My team and I joined NNPP because the party remains unstained and we shall continue to bring positive change to the country and the world at large,” AbdulRaheem said.

In his remarks, Etsu Tsaragi stated that he had known the gubernatorial candidate since his days at Bayero University Kano, where he assisted him in gaining admission and prayed for his victory in the next election.

“I wish you luck, but remember that Lafiagi also has some difficulties that require immediate treatment,” Kawu remarked.

According to a source, the gubernatorial candidate and his team also canvassed votes in other areas of Lafiagi in order to restore Kwara.
