#NIGERIAELECTIONS2023: PDP RETAINS FEDERAL CONSTITUENCIES IN JOS SOUTH AND EAST

The Peoples Democratic Party’s Dachung Bagos was proclaimed the victor of the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency election in Plateau State on Saturday by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Prof. Jonathan Dabak of the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Jos, the INEC Returning Officer for the election, declared the results on Monday.
According to the Returning Officer, Bagos received 95,637 votes, defeating seven other candidates, including the All Progressives Congress candidate, Gideon Davou, a serving LGA chairman for Jos South, who received 27,235 votes.
Bagos, the Vice Chairperson of the House Committee on Anti-Corruption, was elected for the second time.
The lawmaker in a remark described his victory as the handiwork of God and support from the people
The congressman, who thanked the people for their support, promised to bring more democratic dividends during his second term.
