FIRE AT MARINA STARTED FROM THE GENERATOR OF THE BLUE RAIL MASS TRANSIT – LAGOS POLICE PRO
On Tuesday morning at Marina, Lagos Island, there was commotion when some sections of the recently inaugurated Blue Rail Mass Transportation caught fire.
As the fire started, people started to run for safety.
Several rushed for safety after mistaking the fire event for an explosion.
The fire was still being put out by the fire department, the police, and other emergency personnel.
There is no need to panic, according to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin, since emergency response unit including the police and fire service were on the scene to put out the fire.
According to the Police PRO, “the fire at Marina started from the generator of the Blue Rail Mass Transit. Police patrol teams and the fire service are already on the ground to control the crowd and put out the fire respectively.
“People are urged to go about their lawful duties and not panic as the situation is under control.”
