BURNA BOY CONFIRMED AS A CO-HEADLINER AT UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
By Adeniyi Onaara
On June 10 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, the Grammy Award-winning musician Burna Boy will co-headline the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Concert by Pepsi.
This information was made public on the UEFA Champions League website on Thursday.
Before the start of the largest club match in football, the Nigerian star, known for his worldwide number-one single “Last Last,” will excite and uplift millions of spectators with his afrobeat soulfulness.
“I know it doesn’t get any larger than the UEFA Champions League because I’m a major football fan myself! I’m thrilled to be singing on the Pepsi stage at this year’s championship because of this. Football and music go together like no other, so you already know, I’ll be bringing the vibes and making magic in Istanbul. The world isn’t ready for what we have in store!” UEFA quoted Burna Boy as saying.
The UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Show by Pepsi, originally known as the UEFA Champions League Opening Ceremony, is currently in its sixth year and brings together music, sport, and culture with an electrifying spectacle. The other co-headliner for this year will be revealed soon.
“The UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Show is a crucial component of our collaborative efforts with Pepsi, giving a fantastic opportunity to reach new and younger audiences with some of the biggest names and rising talents in music,” UEFA marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein said. It will be an exciting and memorable performance when we present a lineup of great artists at this season’s final in Istanbul.
