NATIONAL ASSEMBLY POLLS: 9 PETITIONS SUBMITTED TO ONDO ELECTION TRIBUNAL
Ondo State Election Tribunal on Thursday said it had received nine petitions regarding the state’s 25 February National Assembly elections.
This was made known by the Secretary of the tribunal, Musa Adam, in Akure who confirmed the petition to newsmen. According to him, seven of the petitions were on the House of Representatives election and two on the Senate.
Mr Adam said that Olusegun Phillips-Alonge, the candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party in Ondo North Senatorial District, has filed a petition challenging the election of Olajide Ipinsigba of All Progressives Congress (APC).
He further stated that the Labour Party candidate for Ondo Central, Morounfoluwa Bademosi, has also filed a petition challenging the victory of Mr Adeniyi Adegbonmire of the APC.
The secretary said that petitions were also filed to challenge the elections in Akoko South east/Akoko South west, Ese Odo/Ilaje, Okitipupa/Irele and Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituencies.
Other federal constituencies, according to Musa, include Akure South/Akure North, Akoko South east/Akoko South west and Akoko North east/Akoko North west.
