BABAJIDE CELEBRATES SUPER FALCONS’ WAFCON 2024 QUALIFICATION

Rinsola Babajide has expressed her delight after helping Nigeria’s Super Falcons qualify for the WAFCON 2024 holding in Morocco.

The Falcons sealed qualification after coming from a goal down to beat Cape Verde 2-1 in the second leg playoff game on Tuesday.

Following the win, the former African champions booked their place at next year’s tournament on 7-1 aggregate win after the first leg ended 5-0 in Abuja.

Commenting on the qualification, Babajide wrote on X: “Qualification of the Women’s African Cup of Nations in Morocco is secured ✅ #RB9 #WAFCON.”

The Falcons have now qualified alongside champions South Africa, Senegal, Mali, Tanzania, Algeria, Ghana, Zambia and Botswana for the WAFCON 2024.

At the WAFCON 2022 also held in Morocco, the Falcons finished fourth.
