PARIS 2024: POOR COACHING COST SUPER FALCONS – OKON
Former Super Falcons head coach, Edwin Okon has taken a swipe at the current coach Randy Waldrum, claiming the team struggled in the Olympic Games in Paris because of a lack of clear technical input.
Nigeria was eliminated in the group rounds of the tournament losing all three games and suffered the added embarrassment of scoring just a single goal.
Speaking to Brila.net, Okon who also led the Falcons to two major competitions, argues that the team played below par in Paris and could have been better.
“I’ve said this repeatedly, that our team lacked technical play at the Olympics tournament. We showed very little quality.
“The team consists of 17 professional players from different clubs, and we should be playing better than we did. Changes need to be made to enable this team compete highly with other nations.”
