GUNMEN ATTACK POWER FACILITY IN OGBOMOSO

Reports from Ogbomoso in Oyo State indicate that armed robbers have attacked a 132kV power substation in the ancient city.
The station, located at Temidire/Ajeja along Ikirun Road, was reportedly invaded on Monday by about six armed men who carted away equipment from the facility.
Sources said the attackers stormed the site fully armed and used various tools to remove components from the station before escaping.
The suspects were said to have fled the scene after carrying out the operation.
A security guard, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident.
Following the attack, some chiefs from the palace of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Afolabi Olaoye, visited the station.
Officials of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from the Ganmo station, where the Temidire substation is linked, also visited Ogbomoso to assess the situation.
Among the TCN officials present were Engr. Adetunji (Assistant General Manager, Transmission), Engr. Afusat Umar Muazu, and Engr. Adetoyinbo A. Adekunle.
As of the time of filing this report on Tuesday, the value of the stolen equipment had not yet been determined.
