The management of the Nigerian Women Football League, (NWFL) has commended Edo Queens, for qualifying to the semifinals of the WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League.
Edo Queens defeated Omnisport Etincelle 1-0 in their final group game on Saturday, thanks to Joy Jerry’s first half strike.

Chairperson of the NWFL, Nkechi Obi, lauded the team for their sterling performance at the continental competition.
“On behalf of the NWFL board, I want to congratulate the Edo Queens on reaching the semifinals. I am proud of their performance so far,” Obi said.
“They have shown true character and determination in this tournament. Their excellent run also justifies their domestic season title triumph. I am confident they will continue to make Nigeria and the NWFL proud as they progress further.
Edo Queens will lock horns with hosts Inter D’Abidjan in the semi-finals at Stade De La Paix in Bouake on Tuesday.
