ANCOPSS KOSOFE ZONE PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO SUPERVISING TG/PS EDUCATION DISTRICT II

As part of its continuous efforts to foster collaboration and enhance the quality of education, the Executive Members of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Kosofe Zone, Ikorodu, on Tuesday, paid a courtesy visit to the Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District II, Lagos State, Mr Olusegun Osinaike.
The delegation, led by the Kosofe Zonal Chairman, Mrs. Ogunbiyi Adetoun, provided a comprehensive overview of the zone’s activities and contributions to educational development. She highlighted key initiatives undertaken by the zone, including the organisation of workshops and seminars aimed at enhancing the capacity of school leaders and teachers, active participation in local and international educational conferences, and efforts to address basic security needs within schools.
In her remarks, Mrs. Ogunbiyi acknowledged the support of the Education District II leadership and called for urgent intervention in critical areas affecting schools within the Kosofe Zone. These include filling existing vacancies for Principals, Vice Principals, and teaching staff, particularly in core subject areas, as well as the provision of essential furniture for both students and teachers to ensure a conducive learning environment.
She further drew attention to the pressing issue of insecurity and persistent vandalism within the Maryland School Complex, urging the district leadership to give the matter immediate consideration to safeguard lives and property within the affected schools.
Responding, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, expressed appreciation for the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the ANCORPPS Kosofe Zone executives. She lauded their proactive approach to professional development and their willingness to invest in both personal and institutional growth.
The TG/PS assured the delegation of the District’s commitment to addressing their concerns. He emphasised that ensuring security in schools requires a collective and strategic approach, underscoring the need for effective monitoring and collaboration among all stakeholders.

He also encouraged school administrators to continue organising capacity-building programmes for teachers, particularly on professional appearance and conduct, stressing that the image projected by educators contributes significantly to the perception of schools.
The TG/PS reiterated the District’s readiness to prioritise the filling of leadership and teaching vacancies across schools in the zone. She also called on school leaders to leverage partnerships with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), community leaders, and private individuals to provide support for schools through corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both parties to work collaboratively towards improving the standard of education and ensuring a safe, supportive, and enabling environment for teaching and learning across schools in Kosofe Zone.
Others in attendance were Mr Adedeji Olufemi – Vice Chairman, Mr Olugbenga James- Secretary, Mrs Komolafe Jolayemi – Social Secretary, Mrs Arogbodo O.O. – Financial Secretary, Rev. Abayomi O – Welfare Office and member of management in the District.
