Popular Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his son.

The 54-year-old actor broke the sad news in a post on his Instagram page on Saturday, though he did not disclose the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.

Accompanying a photo of the late boy, Chatta wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”

The post drew an outpouring of condolence messages from colleagues and fans in the comment section.

The tragedy comes just days after veteran actress, Peju Ogunmola, also lost her only son, Ayomikun, who passed away in Ibadan earlier this week at the age of 30.

Both losses have plunged the Nollywood community into grief, with colleagues and fans expressing deep shock over the double tragedies.

Back in June, Chatta had revealed how he lost his first child, a daughter, years ago, attributing her death to financial hardship and inadequate medical care.

He recounted that he was forced to bury her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate, as he could not afford a coffin at the time.
